【词义】v 保持；保留
【用法】
(1) 当“保持”讲时，常用于结构keep (sb/sth) + adj。如：
We should excise more to keep healthy.
我们应该多锻炼以保持健康。
She always keeps her hair short.
她总是留着短发。
The noise kept me awake all night.
噪音吵得我一晚上没睡着。
(2) 当“保留；保存”讲。如：
She kept the ring for a long time.
这个戒指她保存了很长时间。
His books are kept upstairs.
他的书藏在楼上。
keep也可以指把东西“留给”别人，即自己不要
