The whole nation was shocked at the news. What frightening scenes! The whole town lay in ruins. A great number of houses fell. Huge cracks cut across houses, roads and canals. Mountain collapsed. Roads were buried by stones and bricks. Water and electricity were cut off. Thousands of people were trapped under the ruins! In a word, everything I looked was nearly destroyed. But fortunately, after the earthquake, all the people, including farmers, workers, and volunteers, took action right away. Everyone did their bit to help them out of the disaster.
