Procrastination
Procrastination:
When you put off things that you should be focusing on, you're usually in favor of doing something that is more enjoyable or that you’re more comfortable doing.
*Sometimes procrastination can prevent individuals from achieving things that they are capable of.
Do you often try the “keeping everything in your head and put everything off until the last minute" solution in your daily life?
Procrastination: a student's worst enemy?
"Procrastination is the disease eating away at student's productivity – and with exam season upon us, we're facing an epidemic." An American study estimates that over 70% of students exhibit this behaviour.
My goal for 2015 is to accomplish the goals of 2014 which I should have done in 2013 because I made a promise in 2012 & planned in 2011......
Is this also true to you?
Top 3-5 reasons I procrastinate:
Feeling overwhelmed
Poor concentration
Lack of motivation
Invest your time in the wrong tasks
Don’t feel like it/like doing it
Not sure what to do
No time
It’s just not urgent
Don’t know how/why/when
Think someone else is doing it
Forgetfulness
Laziness
Fear of failure
perfectionism
Some undesirable consequences:
Missed deadlines
Inefficient work/study flow
Poor work/study quality
Higher stress levels
A poor professional reputation and a stalled career

Time Management
First things first…
You can’t manage time!
What is Time Management?
Time management is the art of arranging, organizing, scheduling, and budgeting one’s time for the purpose of generating more effective work and productivity.
“Time management” refers to the way that you organize and plan how long you spend on specific activities.
Time management is not about managing the time, but about self-management.
Managing Time is . . .

What are your goals for this semester?
Study more often, not write up lab reports a day or 2 before due date + attend EVERY lecture and tutorial.
Straight A's (got 2 A's and 1 B this semester); also to add 30 min of cardio 4-5 days per week.
Better study habits and organizational skills are a definite. Mine are pretty good but I do need to improve in some ares like time manament and etc. for goals outside of school, i plan to try and take better care of myself. My eating habits stink, I get no sleep, I smoke, and I haven't workout since I started school. I used to take such good care of myself.
"I want to achieve IELTS Band 7.0 for speaking."
"I want to be able to give business presentations in English at work."
Strategy B: Set Priority
Do it: Must it be done by me, straightaway? If yes
Delegate it: Do I have to do it myself? If not
Delay it: Can the task be delayed? If yes
Delete it: Does this need to be done at all ? If not

The Key to Good Time Management
Understanding The Difference Between Urgent and Important
‘Urgent’ tasks demand your immediate attention, but whether you actually give them that attention may or may not matter.
'Important' tasks matter, and not doing them may have serious consequences for you or others.
For example:
Answering the phone is: urgent
If you don’t do it, the caller will ring off, and you won’t know why they called. It may, however, be an automated voice telling you that you may be eligible for compensation for having been mis-sold insurance. That’s not important.
Going to the dentist regularly is:important (or so we’re told).
If you don’t, you may get gum disease, or other problems. But it’s not urgent. If you leave it too long, however, it may become urgent, because you may get toothache.
Picking your children up from school is:both urgent and important
If you are not there at the righ
