Anne was a science teacher in a primary school. She loved her job very much. She believed practical work means teaching science efficiently. So she wanted to show her students’ parents how well their children learning in school. She invited all of the parents to see one of the children’s experiments. Because she hoped all of the parents could attend the meeting, she decided to show the experiment to the parents on Saturday evening. The experiment is about how plants grow. Anne put four pots of beans, one pot was in poor soil, while the other three were in good soil. But one pot was put in the dark room for four days and the other had no water for four days. So the children would learn the importance of the soil, sunlight and water in the plants growing. She put four labels on four pots, one said this was in bad soil, the other said this was put in the dark room for four days, the third one said this have no water for four days, and the last one said this one with good soil, plenty of light, and regular water. Anne came back to the school on Saturday evening half an hour before the meeting. After Anne arrived, she was surprised to find that all the plants grew very well. A boy told her that in order to make the plants grow better, they change the bad soil of the plants, put them under the sun and water them regularly.
