To facilitate practice for Speaking test,scripts followed interlocutor of parts 2 and 3 appear below.
Interlocutor frames are not included for part 1, in which the interlocutor asks the candidates questions directly rather than asking them to perform tasks.
Part 2: Mini presentations for 2 candidates (about 6 minutes)
Interlocutor:
I’m going to give each of you a choice of 3 topics. I’d like you to choose one of the topics and give a short presentation on it for about a minute. You will have about a minute to prepare for this and you can make notes if you wish while you prepare. After you have finished your talk, your partner will ask you a question.
All right? Here are your topics.

Part 3: Collaborative task and discussion (about 6 minutes)
Interlocutor:
Now this part of the test you are going to discuss together.
[Interlocutor points to the card showing the task while give the instructions below.]

You have 30 seconds to read the task carefully, and then 3 minutes to discuss and decide about it together. You should give reasons for your decisions and opinions. You don’t need to write anything. Is that clear?

I’m just going to listen and then ask you to stop after 3 minutes. Please speak so that we can hear you.

As we know, Beijing is the political & cultural center of China, There are lots of tourist attractions there, such as the Summer Palace & the Great Wall.
l What’s the Climate/Weather like in your hometown?
It’s generally very hot in summer, like about 40 degrees centigrade. In winters, it’s cold---about minus 14 degrees. The Spring & Autumn are both mild & pleasant, with temperatures ranging around 12 or 25 degrees. Oh, summer time is extremely humid as well.
What’s the Climate/Weather like in your hometown?
3. There are 4 seasons. Winter is cold & snowy, spring is short & rainy; summer is hot & humid; autumn is beautiful.
4. The weather in Wuhan is really uncomfortable. Summers are extremely hot; Winters are unpleasantly cold; Spring time is really short and Fall is the best season in Wuhan.
l What is the character of the people like in the region where you live?
They are usually very friendly & somewhat conservative. If you were to visit Xi’an, you’d soon notice that the people still retain many ancient customs & traditions, which is what I mean by conservative. You’d also notice that people there are very helpful. If you ask someone for directions, they will try to help you out.

2. It’s a bit hard to say. I guess people are generally pretty friendly & helpful. Some people say that we’re quick tempered but don’t hold many grudges. Other than that, there’s not much difference between us & other Chinese.
l The pace of life has become fast. My hometown has been getting more & more prosperous.
l The people in my hometown are still very traditional compared to people in urban area.
l Qingdao is a costal city with beautiful sea scenery.
l There are many kinds of fast food in Wuhan, such as Chinese doughnuts, steamed meat buns, hot-&-dry noodles, steamed dumplings, wonton, soybean juice, spring rolls, & fried dough sticks.
l Wuhan is noted for it’s “thorough fares of 9 provinces”.
l Wuhan has a history of 3,500 years. There are a lot of scenic spots in Wuhan. Wuhan, with 189 lakes, is rich in Water Resource.
l East Lake Scenic Area is a famous national scenic spot. It is the largest lake in Chinese cities.
l Wuhan is often called “the native Land of White Clouds & Yellow Crane”. People in Wuhan are proud of the Yellow Crane Tower.
l The buildings in Guiyuan Temple were built in Qing Dynasty. There are good examples of the Chinese traditional buildings.
l Wuhan is composed of 3 towns, namely, Hankou, Hanyang, Wuchang. Hankou is the Commercial Center. Hanyang is the tourist center. Wuchang is the center for technology & education.
