一、教学内容:
六年级上册《Unit4 Then and now》
二、目标预设:
(一)知识目标:
1. 能听懂、会说、会读、会写单词ago, use, telephone, office, mobile phone, anywhere, radio, newspaper, watch, e-book及词组then and now, make friends, all over the world, do shopping.
2.能正确掌握并学会运用句型…year(s) ago, …was/could/couldn’t/didn’t…和Now…
(二)技能目标:
1. 能正确理解课文内容,并能朗读、初步复述。在此基础上能正确运用句型…year(s) ago, …was/could/couldn’t/didn’t…和Now…进行口语表达。
2. 在复习过去式的语法基础上,能进一步理解和掌握过去式的表达。
3. 能运用过去和现在进行比较,再次复习过去式的构成规则。
(三)情感目标:
感受日新月异的科技发展,激起热爱生活的情感。

重点:
1. 单词ago, use, telephone, mobile phone, anywhere, radio, newspaper, e-book及词组then and now, make friends, all over the world的教学。
2. 句型…year(s) ago, …was/could/couldn’t/didn’t…的教学。
难点:
在理解课文内容的基础上能正确运用句型…year(s) ago, …was/could/couldn’t/didn’t…和Now…进行口语表达。
四、设计理念:
《英语课程标准》中明确指出,义务教育阶段的英语课程应面向全体学生,体现以学生为主体的思想,主要目的是为学生发展综合语言运用能力打基础,强调语言学习的实践性,鼓励学生在教师的指导下,通过体验、实践、参与、探究和合作等方式,发现语言规律,逐步掌握语言知识和技能,发展自主学习能力。
五、教学过程:
Step1: Warm up
1. Greeting
T: Class begins. Good morning, boys and girls
S: Good morning, Miss Zhou.
2. Game: Brain storming
T: Before our class, let’s have a “Brain storming” game first.
Please tell the past verb of the following verbs quickly.
S: 快速说出所呈现动词的过去式。
3. Free talk
T: Say something about me!(利用刚刚出示的动词,老师讲讲关于自己的情况)
My hair is short.
I often buy things on the Internet. I can read books.
I write letters to my e-friends.
Ask students to say something about the English teacher.
S: Her hair is…
She can speak English well.
She can teach…
T: How about me twenty years ago? Guess!
Let Ss see some pictures about me 20 years ago and then give them four T/F questions.
Q1: My hair was long. (T/F)
Q2: I could speak English. (T/F)
Q3: I chatted with my friends on the Internet. (T/F)
Q4: I couldn’t use English to write. (T/F)
Step 2 Pre-reading
1. Look and guess
T: Now you know the changes about me, right?How about the other people? Let’s see.

play football.

call people with the mobile phone.
C. 30 years ago, this old man read newspaper,
now he reads e-books.
D. 20 years ago, this woman made friends at school,

Think and do the A/B/C choice.

Step 3 While reading
1. Learn Mike’s part
a. Read and underline
T: Boys and girls, please read paragraph one individually. Use“~~”to underline what Mike could/couldn’t do in the past, and use“——”to underline what he can do now.
S: (read and underline) Six years ago, Mike could read and draw, but he could not write. Now he can do many things.
b. Teach: Here couldn’t =could not. (指导学生朗读)

2. Learn Mr Brown’s part
a. Read and underline
T: Now let’s see Mr Brown’s part, please read paragraph two individually. Use“~~”to underline what Mr Brown could/couldn’t do in the past, and use“——”to underline what he can do now.
S: (read and underline) Twenty years ago, Mr Brown
wore letters to his friends. He used the telephone at home and in the office to call people.
Now he has a mobile phone and he can call
people anywhere. He also writes e-mails.
b.Pair work: discuss and answer

Q2:How does Mr Brown contact people and how does he call people now?
S: discuss in pairs and answer the questions.
c. Think and choose
T: Look at the word “anywhere”, what’s the meaning?
