【教学内容分析】
本单元以“主动提供帮助”的志愿者工作为话题展开教学,要求学生在实际生活中能给他人提供帮助,学生学会在实际生活中能使用英语。同时,学生可以了解他国异乡的文化、人土风情、自然环境等情况,以扩充学生的知识面。本单元通过听、说、读、写的全面训练能力,进一步提高学生听、说、读、写的综合素质能力。
【学情分析】
本单元语言目标是提供帮助,对于八年级的学生可能已经不像七年级学生那样热衷于普通的课堂活动,所以设计怎样的课堂活动,采取怎样的评价方式来提高课堂气氛,从而使学生自然地融入整个教学环节显得尤为重要。所以任务活动设计尽量贴近学生生活、学习经历和社会实际的,努力引起学生共鸣;同时,教师对每一个任务的解决,都让学生有思考和想象的空间,让学生学有所得,才能提高语用能力和思维能力。学生在初二年已经学过对他人提供帮助的句型,语言知识已有积淀,通过本单元的学习对已有知识进行巩固、提升。在培养学生听、说、读、写能力的基础上,培养学生爱家乡,形成健康的人生观,为他们的终身学习和发展打下良好的基础。
【单元教学目标】
1.知识目标:
a. 学习并掌握本单元单词及动词短语的用法如clean up, hunger, homeless, cheer up, give out, volunteer, food, bank 等。
b. 学会提供帮助的基本句型:
I’d like to work outside .
I’ll hope to clean up the city park.
I volunteer to visit the sick children in the hospital.
You could give out food at a food bank.
2.能力目标:
a. 用“would like to ” “hope to do sth” 句型谈论给别人提供帮助
b.提高学生的综合语言运用能力。
3. 认知目标
掌握“would like to” “hope do sth”句型,通过练习和运用加以巩固
4.情感目标:
a.通过本单元学习使学生更加能够用所学的知识做事情和解决问题。
b.通过对本单元的学习,增强实际交际能力,培养学生为他人着想,热爱公益事业,乐于助人的优良品质。
【教学重点和难点】
重点:围绕“志愿工作”这个话题,通过动词短语和句型的应用,提高语言交际能力。
难点:教师如何创设与本话题相关的情景,如一些需要人们帮助的人或事的图片等等,使学生学会谈论如何帮助身边的人,提倡助人为乐。
1) Would like to do sth. = would love to do sth.
I’d like to go somewhere relaxing = I’d love to go somewhere relaxing.
2) will do sth.
表示说话者意志和意愿或者必然要发生的事,通常用“will“。
3) be going to do sth.
表示说话者打算计划要做某事、或者将要发生某事。
a. Next month my sister will be twenty-one.
这里不能说 “be going to”.
b. It’s going to rain soon. (将要发生的事情)
4) You could volunteer in an after-school study program.
can, could 表示体力上有能力去做某件事。

4.能够正确使用词汇,如:city, notice, volunteer, sign, lonely等。

6.能根据听到的关键词完成听力任务,如:1b, 2a等。
